Field Data
Field Data
What is field data?
Field data reflects real users on real networks and devices, for example the Chrome UX Report (CrUX). PageReflect does not currently pull CrUX or RUM into the product. Your report's performance numbers come from the Lighthouse lab run plus analysis of the gathered pages.
CrUX basics
CrUX aggregates anonymized Core Web Vitals from Chrome users who opted in to syncing their browsing history. It is the canonical source for whether your site passes Core Web Vitals in Google's eyes, because it measures the population rather than a single synthetic run.
Using it alongside PageReflect
Treat PageReflect as the fast, controlled signal you act on between releases, and field tools (Search Console, CrUX, your analytics) as the population-level check. When lab numbers are consistently Good but field data is not, the gap is usually real-world variability: slower devices, networks, or third-party scripts that the lab run does not see.
